Rabobank and NatWest back Scottish wind farm
The 81MW Pencloe is Invenergy’s largest project in the UK
Michael Marray   30 Apr 2025

Rabobank and NatWest have signed a £150 million ( US$201 million ) financing for Invenergy’s 81-megawatt Pencloe onshore wind farm in Scotland.

DLA Piper advised Rabobank and NatWest, which acted as mandated lead arrangers and lenders, on the loan. Watson Farley & Williams represented Invenergy.

Invenergy and its affiliated companies develop, build, own and operate large-scale renewable and other clean energy generation and transmission, clean hydrogen, and storage facilities in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

Pencloe, located in Dumfries and Galloway, is its largest developed project in the United Kingdom.

Last year, Vestas secured an order to deliver eighteen 18 V136-4.5MW wind turbines. The order includes supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning of the turbines.

The project expected to be fully operational by early 2026. Upon completion of the project, Vestas will service the turbines under a multi-year Active Output Management 5000 ( AOM 5000 ) service agreement designed to ensure optimized performance of the assets.
